Possibly history revisionists can make that claim, but mainstream science and historians will beg to differ. That very statement annilates the first amendment, which was put in place to make clear, that the consitution endorses no such thing.

The Treaty of Tripoli makes no specific mention of God, but it does specifically mention Christianity. Perhaps you should check it out.

This a little presumptutious of Bob Marley, don't you think? Or is it just a handy quote to question my knowledge of history?

It basically says, that if you know the same history that Bob Marley perceives, you would know where he was coming from and does so in a sarcastic manner.

As for not making commentary on being a product of your social/cultural upbringing, probably a wise choice as that is also self evident. I'm assuming here that you are in fact an atheist yourself, considering that I only disbelieve in one God less than you do. Would that be a fair statement? Would I be correct to assume that you disbelieve in all man's created Gods with the exception of the perceived God that was ingrained in you since childhood?
